The Lincoln Lodge might be one of Chicago’s lesser-known comedy theaters, but it’s no less impressive than the iO or Second City. Its alumni include Hannibal Burress, Kyle Kinane, and T.J. Miller, to name just a few. So you can trust that every show it produces will bring the laughs—including the totally unique Uncontrolled Variables Comedy and Science Show on September 8th.
The largely improvised show begins with an unexpected premise. Comedians are each assigned a certain swathe of scientific data, which they’re tasked with presenting to the audience using their own signature comedic style. After they do, the scientists who actually conducted the research behind the data take the stage to explain what it really means. Needless to say, the results are bound to be both educational and hilarious. You might even find a few of the comics considering a second career in science by the night’s end. Grab your $10 ticket to the show ASAP and learn something new while you laugh! Note that masks and proof of vaccination are both required at the door in order to enjoy Uncontrolled Variables.
